01 Who is Private Driver Walter Occhini?

Private Driver Walter Occhini is a fully licensed and insured N.C.C. (Noleggio con Conducente — hire with driver) chauffeur service based in Livorno, Tuscany.

We specialise in private shore excursions, airport and port transfers, and custom day tours throughout Tuscany and Italy. Every service is carried out in a private Mercedes Vito / V-Class (up to 8 passengers) with a professional, English-speaking driver.

02 Where do you operate?

Our main base is in Livorno, Tuscany. We operate throughout the whole of Tuscany and can reach any destination you wish to visit.

We regularly serve passengers arriving at:

  • Livorno Port — our home port, all Tuscany excursions available
  • La Spezia Port — Cinque Terre, Pisa, Florence, Lucca and more
  • Civitavecchia Port (Rome) — Rome day tours via our partner drivers
  • Naples Port — Amalfi Coast, Pompeii, Sorrento via our partner network

We also organise private transfers to and from airports, hotels and private addresses throughout the region.

03 Are only the tours listed on the website available?

Not at all. The tours on our website are the most frequently requested itineraries — they are a starting point, not a limitation.

We are happy to organise any custom excursion you have in mind: a specific village, a winery visit, a truffle hunt, a cooking class, or any combination of places not listed. Simply contact us with your ideas and we will put together a tailored itinerary and quote.

When booking, select "Taylor-made Tour" and describe your wishes in the notes field.

Note: fluent English is guaranteed on all excursions. For simple transfers, basic English sufficient for clear communication is guaranteed — please specify if a fluent English driver is required.

05 How do I book?

Booking takes just a few minutes:

  • Fill in the booking form with your details and service requirements
  • Choose your payment preference — Pay Now (Stripe), Pay Later or Pay Cash (card saved as guarantee only)
  • You will receive a booking voucher by email with all confirmed details
  • Present the voucher to your driver on the day

06 Is my credit card charged immediately when I book?

Only if you choose Pay Now. If you select Pay Later or Pay Cash, your card is saved securely via Stripe as a guarantee only — no amount is charged at the time of booking.

Payment is collected at the end of the service (by card or cash as agreed), or in the event of a late cancellation as per our cancellation policy.

07 What happens if my ship is delayed or docks at a different port?

We monitor ship schedules and stay in contact with our clients. If your ship is delayed, we will adjust the start of the service and do our best to carry out the excursion in the remaining available time.

If your ship docks at an alternative port, please contact us as early as possible — we will assess whether and how the service can be adapted and discuss any changes with you before proceeding.

If your ship does not dock at all due to bad weather, you will not be charged and will receive a full refund (net of any bank commissions if payment was made in advance).

08 Can the driver enter museums and tourist sites with us?

Under Italian law, drivers are not permitted to enter tourist sites — churches, museums, archaeological areas — or act as licensed guides inside these locations.

Your driver will accompany you to each entrance, give you an orientation and help with timing throughout the day. If you would like a licensed local guide inside a specific site (e.g. the Uffizi Gallery or the Colosseum), this can be arranged at additional cost — just mention it when booking.

09 What is included in the price?

All our prices are all-inclusive:

  • Private Mercedes Vito / V-Class (up to 8 passengers)
  • Professional English-speaking driver
  • Meet & Greet with name sign at port or terminal
  • Fresh mineral water on board
  • All highway tolls and parking fees

Not included: entrance fees to museums and sites, meals, wine tastings, gratuities, and any optional extras requested on the day.

10 Do you provide child seats? Can I request a specific vehicle?

Child seats are available at no extra charge — simply tick the option on the booking form or mention it in the notes.

Our standard vehicle is the Mercedes Vito / V-Class, which comfortably seats up to 8 passengers with luggage. If you have specific requirements, please let us know when booking and we will do our best to accommodate.
